iainiain101
I noticed a sign on the way to Mae On last week and decided to go and check it out. Construction has started on a new 18 hole golf course just before the Alpine turn as you head towards Mae On. They hope to be open for play in 2 years. There seem to be flags where the greens will be. Pictures shown the sign, the area for the clubhouse and the view.
Thailand
Did it have a name or only in Thai? Associated with Grand Hill Lanna perhaps? Would that make about 14 courses within 1 hour of Chiangmai? Edited September 1, 2015 by Thailand
MESmith
Not a golfer myself, but that sounds a better development in that area than another housing project
clonetom
I was looking at a house for rent a few weeks ago, in the housing development right next to this new golf course. There, I received the info that this housing development (currently broke) had been bought by the same investor as the golf course. He plans to build acommodation for the (supposedly) large influx of Chinese golfers there...

Would that make about 14 courses within 1 hour of Chiangmai? Yes, that is one big complex now. Direct access from Grand Hill Lanna to Golf Course (without name). Same owner. I have a Pool House FOR SALE there !!
Chicog
A mate of mine did a year at Bejiing course last as PGA pro.$500K membership p.a. You can understand why they might consider Chiang Mai for golf!
