English Potatoes

Featured Replies

Not the Asian ones.

Has anyone found proper English potatoes, like Cheshires or Lincoln.

Makro has Chinese they are a fair potato but no good for chips.

You can get new English potatoes in a tin but they are small and expensive.

I have thought of getting friends to bring some over and trying to grow my own, but I'm no gardener.

Try the hairy bikers way of cooking chips, slice, wash and soak in water, deep fry on 80 for 6 minutes, take out and let rest for 5 minutes, then cook on 110 for 2 minutes...perfect..oil needs changing every 10 times don't forget. I tried to grow here but no luck, also tried a conker tree and again nothing.

I love the Hairy Bikers series

Especially the Crumpets.

But could never duplicate how they did it.

But thanks anyway.

A couple of years ago a friend of mine got some UK reds from Villa Market in Pattaya, they were about 180 baht/kilo.
