uksomchai
And I wonder just how much someone charged them for this new Logo. No doubt in the hundreds of thousands of Dollars would be my guess

Fabricus
That's not the new logo. This is. Google-launches-new-logo-friendlier-for-small-screens.jpg If you didn't notice, you are blind. They have several different logos, all of which are produced by their in-house design team and can be replicated very easily with Photoshop in a matter of minutes. The guy above who claims the "new" logo may have been expensive is wrong. To the OP: the differences between the two examples you've given are immediately obvious to a designer. Bulldozer Dawn
Extremely profound changes. The logo consist of only two things. Colours and a font. All of the colours have been changed and the font.

Razzler1973
Yes, I noticed the 'Google' on the search screen was different but assumed it was in honour of something like 'childish design day' or something

Tywais
Google unveils new logo Google unveiled its new logo just a month after announcing a major restructuring that will give birth to a new parent company, Alphabet. The new logo is still a colorful typographic that features six simple letters on a plain white page. What's the tweak? "Google" is written in a brand new font. The company also said it would shed the little blue "g" icon and replace it with a four-color "G" that matches the new logo. CNBC

Enoon
Extremely profound changes. The logo consist of only two things. Colours and a font. All of the colours have been changed and the font. No, the font is the same. Do you think that the new typeface has the same amount of "boldness" (and all the rest) as the old one? If it hasn't then it can't be the same font can it? Can 2 typefaces ever be of the same font? Does anybody really care about the difference between a typeface and a font anymore? I don't know, as a mere 4 weeks on a typography module (during my graphic design course) was quite enough for me and it was a very long time ago.
