L-A visa?

Featured Replies

I searched online for information about an L-A visa but couldn't find it. I know it's for foreigners wanting to work in Thailand.

What is it and what does it mean?

Non Immigration 'B' visas is what you need.

Working in Thailand isn't straightforward. To get a 'B' visa you need a job offer first so the Thai entity you're going to work for can supply the paperwork needed to get the 'B' visa and work permit.

Could it be a visa that people from Myanmar need in order to work in Thailand?

According to other posts here on Thai Visa such as this one, the Non Immigrant L-A visa is for labourers from neighbouring countries, and L-A stands for "Labour Approved".

Non LA Visas are issued as part of the registration/legalisation process for unregistered migrant workers from Burma, Cambodia and Laos.

Most workers with this class of visa are doing labouring or basic manual jobs that are anyway not open to foreigners from other countries.

LA stands for Labour Approved, the visas are single entry, two year non immigrant types/.

There is some but it is mostly in Thai. I have seen none on a immigration website other than a few forms.

You can find some info here in Thai. https://www.doe.go.th/prd/
