The Military Coup Has Positive Impacts On Thai Economy

UTCC indicates the military coup has positive impacts on Thai economy

The Director of the International Trade Study Centre of the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC), Mr. Ard Pisalvanit (อัทธิ์ พิศาลวนิช), indicated that Thailand's economy has been positively affected by the recent military coup, and the political conflicts are subsiding.

Mr. Ard said that foreign investors are more confident of the national economy, and the peaceful coup does not affect the country's export figures because the export policies are still the same. However, he said that the policies may be adjusted in the future due to the policies of the new government and the confidence of investors.

Nevertheless, Mr. Ard concluded that the overall economy is moving in a positive direction as the Council of Democratic Reform under the Constitutional Monarchy (CDRM) has been well accepted by the society.
