Sooo Upto Me
The Yerman had 14,000 Euro's? How long was he going to vacation in Thailand? Staying in a Guest House I suspect he was going to become on of those "in-out," sort of fellows? Wots a Yerman??? Is he from Yemen?
mcfish
He is old , disabled , if its SCI then he is drugged to the eyeballs in nerve pain medication, could be a bit senile as well and its pretty obvious he isn't thinking straight if he really did have 14,000 euro just laying around He was thinking straight regarding his 'desires' destination........... Sure, the urge to mate precedes everything else. Some species give up their life in the process, pretty silly eh? Not their cash........... Turns up with a Viagra fueled boner and a 10 year case of blue balls and you want him to take care of 14,000 euro at the same time? 2 heads and only 1 brain engaged ...oh well Im sure it happens more often but goes unreported
soalbundy
just get one or two replacement credit cards sent over, then buy ticket, fly home should be to hard no sympathy I don't know if that is so easy, depends on the post i suppose. I ordered a new ATM card from my bank in Germany, after 4 weeks and no card i E-mailed them to send another, another 4 weeks and still no card, i started to doubt whether they had sent one and started an E- mail argument with the bank clerk,he agreed to send me another one, one last time, 4 weeks went by and lo and behold the post delivered me 3 ATM cards on one day all with the 4 week interval dates where they had kept the other two so long i have no idea. F4UCorsair
Ho hum!!! Same $ hit....different shovel. Was his disability his brain? A man has a brain and a dick, but not enough blood to run both simultaneously.
priestly
My sympathies for your misfortune, kind sir. It's so much easier to put in the boot rather than express understanding and sympathy, regardless of the wisdom of your actions. It's in times like these we/you/I need understanding rather than uncaring remarks that are so prevalent here.

Misterwhisper
I am very sorry, but if I had 14,000 euros (approx. 560,000 THB) in cash on me, I certainly would not check into a cheapskate guesthouse but into a decent hotel with a room safe. And secondly, if I'd let my money lay around I'd certainly not pick up a lady boy from the street... wait!... thinking of it, I'd never pick up a lady boy from ANYWHERE. zaphod reborn
Law states you must have a return ticket unless you have NON-IMG visa...so who let him in without one? The law states no such thing. Purely an alleged rule of the immigration police, which can change on the whim. Supposedly there is a requirement of a return ticket within 15 days of the arriving flight for a visa on arrival, but this gentleman probably made a visa exempt entry so could stay up to 60 days (with an extension) before he would have to exit. He could have also had a multi-entry tourist visa. Because of the variable lengths of time when his visa would run out, and the fact that it would be easy to extend by flying to a neighboring country, it is extremely difficult for an immigration officer to require he show proof of a return flight. Moreover, isn't this the kind of "quality" tourist, aka a sucker with a fat wad of cash, that Thailand is trying to attract?
bander
Yes, he did a lot of foolish things, including not having a purchased return flight home and probably no travel insurance. On the other hand, this is a disabled gentleman who was assaulted by a ladyboy. I would hope that the CM police are quite harsh with the ladyboy taking advantage of a disabled man. However, they'll probably just take their share of the loot and turn this ladyboy back onto the street to assault another helpless victim. Ladyboys are the scumbags and trash of prostitutes in Thailand, but unfortunately they work together with Thai police and after sharing the theft (s)he will be back on the streets in CM and assaulting tourists as usual. Case closed.
