guzzi850m2
I am considering buying this little gem of a camera. I was playing around with one today at Big Camera in Central, Pattaya, man I like the old style with dials on top of the housing and how it looks and fell. In all the on-line tests I read, it's getting pretty good scores, and especially operating the camera is very rewarding and you don't have to go into all those menus all the time. Okay only 16MP which is below standard now but I don't really think it matter too much to me, they keep boosting the MP every year and there seems to be no end to it. After I bought a RX100 mk3 my Olympus Stylus1 have been collecting dust most of the time. Okay it's a versatile camera that takes good day light shoots but anything over iso800, forget it. The X-T10 cost just under 39k baht with a XF 18-55mm F2.8- F4 but I rather have the better XF16-55mm 2.8 (very wide + weather sealed) that should be very good. AV Camera in Bangkok sell the X-T10 housing for app 27K baht which is a very good price but the XF16-55mm is 43k Baht which is quite expensive compared to other places like Hong Kong where you can have it for around 37K baht. A couple of questions to our in house specialists/prof photographers: What is your thoughts on the X-T10? How do I best getting around trying selling my Stylus1? ebay of try TV classified? How do you guys sell your photo gear? Anywhere in the world where it worth buying the X-T10 + XF 16-55mm and have them shipped over but risking huge import taxes? Thinking about it maybe AV Camera will buy it if I buy the 2 items from him but not much I think, 10k baht? Well it not gonna happen right now, I am off for overseas next week, but perhaps end of the year.
sfokevin
You can buy thru Lazada online with no import issues... http://www.lazada.co.th/fujifilm-x-t10-163mp-with-lens-xf18-55mm-f28-4-black-free-sd-card-8gb-1338825.html
guzzi850m2
Thanks but you can buy it in a Big Camera or in AV Camera in BKK for same price (same lens), so Lazada is the last place I will buy one as I heard they don't really care about you anymore when the product is sold. guzzi850m2
Well digging further into the kit lens: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3902088 It seems that the 18-55 kit lens is good enough for most and way smaller/lighter but okay one poster said he don't use the 18-55mm anymore after he got the 16-55mm, hmm. Nobody wants to comment so I will just use the topic as my personal "notes" list
mrhitchens
18-55 mm will pretty much cover your needs mate, what do you normally shoot? I will say many of the well know camera shops in BKK will allow you to trade body or Glass, AV Camera, Fotofile etc

I will say many of the well know camera shops in BKK will allow you to trade body or Glass, AV Camera, Fotofile etc I pretty much shoot everything but are an expert of none. Street photos/portraits/landscapes/animals/motor sport/night photographing, you name it, I am trying but with mixed luck I find my Stylus1 just too short sometimes when using it for motor sport (Buriram superbike this year) and birds sitting high up in the trees but that is a small niche of my photographing not done often so spending huge amounts of $ for a 3/4 lens in that range (300mm equivalent) will be overkill so are not sure what to do with that. I got some pretty good street shoots in Bangkok last year with my RX100 m3 that pretty much always sits in my belt-bag when going out, I am very happy with this little camera. I am also a bit concerned about the Fuji's XT10 "only" 16MP, there is a huge discussion going on in dpreveiw how much MP you need when looking at your photos on a 40" 4k pc monitor. Also rumors of Fuji soon launching a 24MP camera, hmm. http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3902304

guzzi850m2
The X100s is also quite tempting, I see some used one on Amazon for around 700$, they cost new just over 1000 $ now and the new X100t is 1300$. Prime lenses are hard to beat but zoom's handy but at the cost of IQ. I have some hard thinking to do and are looking a lot on dpreview forums and elsewhere. " I think he prefers WR ( Water Resistant ) and I do also ! About me ( off topic ) I continue to have my problems with the electric zoom of my Lumix FZ200 so maybe I will have to go to Bangkok . And now about Fujifilm camera; I would like to buy the XT1 which is WR I have seen that FUJI FINEPIX X-T1 KIT XF18-135mm F3.5-5.6R LM OIS WR + Vertical Grip VG-XT1 (NEW) = 70.000 baht ; http://shop.worldcamera.co.th/product_detail.php?pid=2475&v=1 yes, expensive but not too much if we compare with the quality of Fuji lenses . Maybe waiting for march or april 2016, Fuji will sell a new camera, maybe the XT2 with a 24 million pixel FF ? so the XT1 will be less expensive . guzzi850m2
No, don't need wr and will likely get the xt10 with the 18-55mm kit lens Then later add a f1.4 23 or 35 mm The f2.8 16-55mm is very bulky. .
