Five Bangkhen police officers axed following an illegal gambling den raid

BANGKOK: -- Five police officers of Bangkhen police station were on Tuesday abruptly transferred to inactive posts at the operations centre of Metropolitan Police Bureau following a raid of an illegal gambling den in Sai Mai area Monday night.

Wissanu denies wanting to dissolve, reregister parties

Chiang Mai Zoo denies Lin Hui's miscarriage and is ready for baby panda

BANGKOK, 22 September 2015 (NNT)-Chiang Mai Zoo has denied rumors that Lin Hui the giant female panda has suffered a miscarriage, and says she is now in her 93rd day of pregnancy.


The Deputy Director of Chiang Mai Zoo, Niphon Wichairat reveals that photos being circulated online of Lin Hui suffering a miscarriage are old photos of the giant panda. He adds that right now the research group at Chiang Mai Zoo, the same group that's responsible for showcasing the panda, are still taking care of her and are closely monitoring Lin Hui pregnancy.

He confirmed that Lin Hui remains pregnant despite fluctuating hormone levels, but is considered to be a little below par. The deputy director says the zoo will continue to provide updates on Lin Hui’s pregnancy; should there be a miscarriage, it will be disclosed by the zoo. Niphon added that the Chiang Mai Zoo is ready for the baby panda’s arrival as they have prior experience with Lin Ping, the first female panda born at the Chiang Mai Zoo.
