Hello everyone it's my first time here...

Right now, I am still in my company, however I decided to resign on Sep 30 because I got a new job that will start on Nov 16. My company will cancel my work permit on Oct 5. I am not really familiar how this works, somebody told me that I will be given a 7 days allowance after the cut my visa automatically. Someone even told me that I need to go Thai Immigration Office (Pattaya- Jomtien) first get a stamp for 7 days for 1900THB and then go to Laos. I am thinking also to fly out to Kuala Lumpur on that date and be back here after 2 days...

By the way, I need to make sure that after Oct 5, I will get 30 days more because I have ticket back to my home country (Philippines) Nov 3- 12.

I am most concerned for the best option on what to do right after they cut it, cheapest and not time consuming.

You could just fly out and back unless you have a re-entry permit for you extension of stay (not a visa).

The proper way would be to go to immigration with a termination letter dated a few days after you go. Immigration would post date the cancellation to the date on the letter. Then leave before the cancellation date.

So if Im not wrong I can go to Laos on Oct 4 but I'll be needing first a termination letter and send it to immigration before that date.?

I'm afraid you'd have to go to the immigration office in person with a termination

letter from your employer so that the IO can post date the cancellation of your

visa extension in your passport.

So if you want to enter Laos on Oct. 4, you can go to the immigration office with

the letter on Oct. 2 to post date it. This is what ubonjoe suggested, I'd say.

You have to go to immigration with the letter for them to cancel the extension by doing a stamp in your passport.

The date on the letter that states when your employment ends would have to be on or after the date you leave the country.

Op, do you have a visa or an extension of stay ?

if you have a visa, what kind of visa you have ? Non Im B ?

If you have a visa and not an extension of stay, i think you can stay in Thailand until the expiring date.

I am on Non B Visa(multiple entry) that will technically will end tomorrow since they will cancel my work permit tomorrow.

And i am really confused now, I got different answer.

To be safe and sure, I plan to just wait for my work permit to be cancelled tomorrow morning and ask for the letter of cancellation.

I plan to fly out to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow afternoon and come back here on the 6th, just cancel the visa at the Airport.

But I am not certain if they will give 30-day stamp when I come here in Thailand by plane, will they?

Because I need at least 30 days, I'll be heading home(Philippines) on Nov 3.

2: you have a single entry visa and a re-entry permit multiple entry's

3: the stamp on the left page from your first picture looks like a extension of stay stamp ?

4: the date on your first visa states enter before 5 jan 2015, but the other stamps say , by the immigration office, 23 jan 2015 and 28 dec 2014...

so, to me, it looks that you are on a extension of stay, with a multiple re-entry permit.

In that case your visa , imo, would be void.

If you are on a normal, valid Non im B visa, you could stay untill your last date from the re-entry permit, or to be more correct, date stamp that say's admitted untill... ***

But it looks that you where given an extension of stay for one year ?

I am not really certain about it, but it look like yes, most probably I was given an extension of 1 year.

My company by the way, they go to immigration every three months to verify my address, the last time was in Aug... I dont know if this make sense? hmm

Thailand tomorrow. FYI, you can pay 1,900B for a 1-week extension

just in case, though.

If I go into immigration this week can I argue the point that I did in fact exit the country as my work permit was cancelled yet they used my single re-entry and extended my "admitted until" date well into next year?

Or maybe they will just hit me with the overstay?

Immigration cannot check that your work permit was canceled. Work permits are issued by the Labor ministry and immigration has no access to their database,

To cancel your extension you will need a termination letter. They have refused to cancel extensions with just the receipt for a work permit cancellation.

If you went out and got a tourist visa immigration on entry would use it instead of the re-entry permit. Without a visa they will insist on using the re-entry permit.
