The last time I went to Nong Nooch the entry price was 100Bht (that was three months ago), today I was told at the gate the price had risen to 400 Bth !! can anybody confirm that this the actual price and not yet another ripoff, one thing I did notice was the entry price board had disappeared!

We went their last December and the price was 100 baht for adults, and 50 baht for children.

We went back their last month and the entry price was 200 baht for Thai people, 100 baht for Thai children, and 400 baht for foreignors.

What a ripoff. Our family will not be going back.

The entry price used to be 100 baht for all adults if I remember but if you wanted to see the elephant show etc. the inclusive price was 300baht. My wife and I went there about 4/5 months ago just to walk around, we've seen the show so many times, but the price now is 400 baht which includes the show. So although the price as gone up by 100 baht. you can no longer just go for a walk without paying to watch the show!! :o:D

Looks like they're getting ready for the upcoming high season and hordes of visiting tourists. This place is marketed more like an amusement park than your local zoo and 400 baht is nothing for foreigners on a holiday.

It's a real bore.

Forget it :D

Naka.

If you must go, then walk in behind the noisy, uncouth, spitting, hawking

"Zero Dollar" Chinese group tourists :o

They do have a website, and contact us button. I would like to see lots of people send them E mails explaining your disapointment. Especially people that live here. Even 200 baht is getting kind of stiff for Thai people. The 400 baht for Foreigners does not include the shows, just walking around.

Kow Keaw open zoo has also started split pricing, but not so bad. 30 baht for Thai people and 60 baht for foreigners.

Seems to me a 'thai' applied to foreigners who live in Thailand, and the high foreigner pice for the tourist would be a fair and reasonable compromise; reasonable because the foreigner won't be put off by the 400 baht price, whereas the thai resident might, fair because the resident is mostly on a much lower income than the tourist.

Jesusss ..

You can't afford $10 ?

You pay 10 times that to gain entry in even the most modest theme venues like Disney, Seven Flags,m etc,

Nong Nooch is a large property, how much do you think it costs to clean the grounds, maintain the gardens, ..

Where else can you get a picture of yourself in a faux Stonehenge, or the garden Maze, the Butterfly cage,

The Nooch is a great diversion and is larger and more diverse than you think,

You have actually covered the whole park right ?, or did you just hang around close to the gate, mumbling and pissed for putting out a few extra hundred baht, :o

I've been waiting for this type of reply !! yes I can afford $10-00 or even 10 X $10-00 but as usual you are missing the point. It has been a while since I visited Disney and cannot remember how much it cost to get in, but let us say $50-00, would you be prepared on your next vist to pay $200 !! even if it is the happiest place on earth :D This is Thailand not the USA!!

And to put the record striaght I have been to Nong Nooch many times, there is not a corner I have not seen and I do not hang around the gate mumbling or pissed !!! :o but I do draw the line at being ripped off.

I'm a tax paying, middle-aged business man and I know a lot of middle-aged Thai businessmen and most of them have a LOT more money than I do. Why should they pay less than I do for the same attraction? :o

They have to se prices for their average customer in each category - foreigner and thai. And the very prosperous thai businessman is not average. I suggested they think of 3 categories instead of 2, ie thai, foreign resident and foreign tourist.

Once you start two tier pricing - whatever rules you impose it's going to be unfair to someone.

In many Thai National Parks, they will charge you the Thai price if you can produce a work permit. Now where's the logic here? Many expats working in Thailand earn enormous salaries - some of the richest people in the country. Then you get budget tourists, and say retired 'residents' living on low budgets who have to pay the higher price.

How about a reduction for senior citizens. like most places in the world?

You could go on and on - and there would never be a fair way to do it. :o

Lets look at it like this. If Disneyland in the US put a sign up $5.00 admisson but if your Thai admission is $50.00 how long would that last before they were draged through the courts.

If a place has a two tier price I refuse to go in. Its just another system of rip off the farang. :D

I showed the man at the gate my Thai drivers license, and my wife told him I have been living here for four years. He said does not make any difference, and he said this does not include the shows. Just to walk around.
