Phuket media completed a defensive driving course by Honda

PHUKET: -- Members of the media from Phuket and Chiang Mai recently took part in a defensive driving course at Honda Safety Driving Center, on the outskirts of Bangkok.

Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co. organized the educational activity with an aim of providing safe driving skills and knowledge to media reps from Thailand's two major tourist hubs.

The two-day course included theoretical and practical sessions as well as a fun day-trip to put obtained knowledge to use.

The theoretical session covered preparation prior to driving, basic car maintenance, driving etiquette, and fuel saving tips. The demonstration session covered airbag and ABS functioning, blind spots when driving, and steering techniques with hands-on practice. To complete the course participants took a leisurely trip around Chachoengsao province in Honda's new City and Jazz subcompacts.

Commenting on Honda's CSR position, Sompop Patipanthada, Marketing General Manager, Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. said, “Honda always places a strong emphasis on building a culture of road safety and good driving etiquette in the Thai society alongside our commitment to bring the joy of mobility to people.

“All Honda vehicles are fully equipped with safety technologies. However, driver behavior is another contributive factor for greater road safety. The Honda Safety Driving Center has been established to provide safe driving courses to general public, including theory, and demonstration-based training through our high-standard driving training centre, one of the best in Thailand and Southeast Asia.”

Defensive driving courses are available to public at Honda Safety Driving Center in Bangkok. Interested drivers can also attend the course being offered under Honda Dream Road project at 135 participating Honda dealers and service centers nationwide towards the end of 2015.
