PHUKET: -- Marine Police and rescue workers this morning (Sept 29) resumed their search for a 25-year-old man who was swept out to sea while fishing with friends yesterday evening (Sept 28) at Saikaew Beach in Mai Khao, at the northern tip of Phuket.

The missing man, named by police as Guyyasit Wadeesiri, from Phitsanulok province, was fishing with four friends when they were hit by a large wave.

Mr Guyyasit’s friends managed to hold their position, but he was swept away.

“We launched a search as soon as we received the call yesterday,” said Pol Lt Col Anek Mongkol of the Tha Chatchai Police.

‘We helped the group of friends search for him, but we had to call off the search in the dark. Today, Marine Police and rescue divers from the Kusoldham Foundation are continuing their search.:

Mr Guyyasit is the second man to be swept away by large waves in the past week.

Prayad Janmee, 50, was fishing at Laem Son cape, south of Kamala, when he was swept away by a wave at around 5:30pm on Friday. )

Kathu Police believe that his body was the one recovered at Patong Beach on Sunday (Sept 27).

Yes that's the sea and if you look closely I do believe you can see the horizon.

Pointing looks ridiculous at the best of times but this must be one of the most stupid ever.
