Going again in November, just want a refresher.

Featured Replies

This forum helped me a lot last year with obtaining my dual-entry visa (went from October-February), and I'll be going again November-March. Just want to make sure there wont be any surprises. I'm an American, and will be going to the Embassy in DC. Last year was a bit of a nightmare because I was confused about the location and hours of operation (the site was dead-wrong), and they kinda gave me a hard time about getting a dual-visa. This time I'm hoping it goes smoother.

Thanks!

I have no idea about DC but nothing has changed here in Thailand in relation to double entry tourist visas.

Good to hear. I was stressing out so much last year, I haven't even thought about a visa in almost a year haha

With the visa application, I would send a letter addressed to His Excellency The Consul, asking that the tourist visa for two entries should have a validity of six months based on my following travel plan:

[date] first entry into Thailand

[date] departure from Thailand (eg 50 days later)

[date] second entry into Thailand (eg 70 days later)

[date] departure from Thailand (eg 50 days later)

Nobody will hold you to this travel plan and you can afterwards travel on the dates that suit you best.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Thanks for this. I had no idea I had to do something like this, so I had to write a letter at the embassy, and they made me re-write it multiple times.

Learn something every day. I knew you needed to provide evidence of flights in and out of thailand to satisfy requirements for multiple entry tourist visa. However this was only at consulates outside your own country . Say bali for example. (Current thread on this). However the OP is applying in the states. I can only speak for AU , but no letter required. Just write in the box number of entries required

There are many embassies and consulates that require tickets out of the country or at leas an itinerary and that is for everybody not just for those who are not residents. There are some that have stricter requirements. Check the websites for the embassies and consulates in India and China.

Not really sure why, but I feel super nervous, and feel like I'm missing something. I guess because last year I did so much research and had to do a lot more (get passport and stuff). All I need is my passport, itinerary, Visa application (which I'm having trouble finding for some reason), picture, 80$ (dual-entry) visa fee, bank statement, and letter about why I need a dual-entry visa, right?

Thanks! For some reason I could not find that page.

I doubt you remember, but last year I was a nervous wreck. I guess I feel lost because my experience at the embassy was a bit different than what it should of been, also after getting my visa, I stopped thinking about it completely.

Gonna be writing my letter tonight. Hope this format works out, and they don't make me write it over multiple times.

This is what I have written. It doesn't feel long enough. Going tomorrow.

To Whom It May Concern, and His/Her Excellency The Consul,

I, (full name), will be traveling to The Kingdom of Thailand for tourism reasons, arriving on November 7th, then traveling to Cambodia to visit my girlfriend’s family on January 6th, and returning to the Kingdom of Thailand January 7th. I will be departing the Kingdom of Thailand for the United States of America on March 4th, which will complete my vacation. Therefore I am asking for, and require, a dual-entry tourist visa, for my trip.

So I know I've been posting a lot, and I'm sorry. I'm obviously nervous.

I was on their site making sure I had the right address and I saw that it says under "Period of Stay" that a 2 or 3 entry visa can't exceed 90 days total. What exactly does that mean? Is that just per entry, or you can actually plan on being in Thailand more than 90 days?

I'm almost to the embassy now, so I guess I'll find out soon.
