I am seeking any kind of info about what Ranong currently offers these days. Are there any supermarket chains there, if so which ones? Is there a mall there yet? Are there many western restaurants? If these things aren't in Ranong currently is Phuket the next stop for supplies? I remember years ago the drive from Phuket taking about 6 hours is this still the case or has the road been widened?

Am considering a move into the area so am curious to hear what the latest info is. I apologize if these questions have been asked already many times.

Tescos is about it, there are some bars that sell Western food. No mall. Chumpon would be a quicker trip.

Lots of Western restaurants and two small supermarkets in Khao Lak, so worst case you would not have to go to Phuket
