Very confused, need help!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I've looked through the forums but am still very confused...I stayed in Vietnam in September for 30 days on the visa exemption (uk citizen). I accidentally overstayed by two days, paid the fine and am now in Vietnam for 30 days. I want to go back to Thailand for 3 months but don't know if a) I am allowed back in after overstaying, B) I can get a 3 month visa after using the visa exemption already and c) if 30 days away from the country is long enough to come back with the above problems.

Can anyone help? :-/

a. You will have no problem re-entering. The overstay does not exclude you.

b. You can get any visa you qualify for. The overstay doesn't affect getting future visas.

c. Yes.

Thank you !! :)

You have your answer. One added tip. You could obtain a tourist visa in say HCMC.Chilled consulate. That gives you 60 and then extend for 30. Or if in Hanoi you could obtain a double entry. Only sensible if you could possibly see yourself wishing to stay longer. Just a thought..

Hi Shanonpead.

I am considering spending some time in VN in 2016. Would like some advice/tips if you have stayed in HCMC? PM me if interested

Will do Walter. I go every 7 weeks or so. Chilled place
