Overseas travel during 90 day report 7 day late grace period

Featured Replies

Hello

I understand that 90 day report has 7 day late grace period.

My question is whether it is possible to travel within the 90+7 day late period, without first visiting immigration for 90 day report, and not get a fine at the airport.

In other words, could travel take place on days 91-97 without incurring any fines.

I know that travel will reset the clock, but do not want to make extra trip to immigration before traveling if not necessary.

Also is the 7 days, working days or calendar days?

Thanks

Calendar days and travelling in those 7 days after is fine - No fine :-)

No problems at the airport but you might be hit with a fine on your next visit to Immigration for not reporting.

Depends if they pick it up.

The 7 days grace is if you're staying in Thailand only.

As said before, if they pick it up you will be fined

  • They are not interested in outstanding 90 day reports at the airport and you would not be fined when leaving.

  • If you leave after day 90 without reporting you will have a report outstanding and a fine is due from day 97 onwards.

If you re-enter the clock resets for the next 90 days but does not cancel the outstanding report.

It is within 7 calendar days.

If you don't report it is possible that during a future visit to an immigration office they will fine you for the missed report. Depends on the IO dealing with you.

You can report up to 15 days early or send by post or do it online so it's best to get it done before leaving to avoid possible fines.
