byteHunter
Hello. I'm in front of the bus for visa run to Laos. Now they told me they are not sure if I can obtain a visa with an emergency passport. Any knowledge of this?
oncearugge
If the emergency passports itinerary includes travel to Laos and a return to Thailand you should be able to get a visa.

byteHunter
German. Basically the passport if for every country. Only not Indonesia or something. Edited October 4, 2015 by byteHunter
oncearugge
German. Basically the passport if for every country. Only not Indonesia or something. Emergency passports usually require that intended journeys are pre defined. However , if the German emergency travel document is "open", allowing travel to most countries, you should not have a problem
byteHunter
I didn't go... But the visa guy asks for me in embassy there. Now another question, as @ubonjoe suggested I can fly somewhere and fly back to receive exempt, do I have to enter the country before comes back or can I stay in transit area and wait for plane back? ubonjoe
If your emergency passport is valid for 6 months or more you could enter Laos and get the visa. If you fly somewhere you must enter the other country.
byteHunter
Bah.... You think I can do that in the time of 2h30? I arrive at 3 and plane back gos at 5.30 @ubonjoe Edited October 5, 2015 by byteHunter
ubonjoe
It depends upon where you are flying to.. People have done it in KL with that short amount of time. How long is your passport valid for?
byteHunter
8 months. I fly KL yes @ubonjoe
ubonjoe
I assume you will soon be getting a new passport. Once you get down to less than 6 months on the emergency passport you will not be able to enter any other ASEAN country to get a new entry. You should not have a problem in KL. But don't drag your feet.
byteHunter
Yes I get new passport. I made this in bkk because my old one was a bit broken. And they didn't allow another extension with this. Thanks for answers so fast again ubonjoe.
