BANGKOK: -- The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) said goodbye to five of its members on Saturday as part of its restructuring, but it also welcomed five new faces to take their places.

Among the outgoing members were Finance Minister Somkid Jatusripitak and some recently-retired security officers, including former police chief Somyot Poompanmuang.

The newcomers included General Theerachai Nakvanich, the new army chief, who will assume the role of secretary general, and General Preecha Chan-o-cha, the PM's brother and permanent secretary of Defence.

The membership of Meechai Ruchupan remains unchanged in the council, although his candidacy for chairman of the new Constitution Drafting Committee has raised some top-brass eyebrows.

The rest of the council also remains unchanged. The council consists of 15 members, including Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha as its head, Defence Minister and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan as the deputy, and now Theerachai as the secretary general.

"5 changes in NCPO reshuffle"

Okay, okay, okay, I get it. 5 changes in NCPO reshuffled:

- more of the same will be replaced by the next more of the same, only to follow the steps by the old "more of the same", who wil do "more of the same" from the former "more of the same" in hopes for different different results, by doing EXACTLY "more of the same" that their ancestors did.

And the thing is, it will be just more of the same...
