PATTAYA: -- Late on Sunday Night emergency services were called to the Sukhumvit Road after reports of a single-vehicle road crash resulting in the driver and passenger of the vehicle sustaining serious injuries.

The crash occurred on the Bangkok-bound carriageway of the main road and according to the driver, Khun Egashai, he was taking his work colleague home after working all day. By his own admission he was driving fast and the road conditions were not good, following a period of heavy rainfall.

Khun Egashai claims that two men, who appeared to be intoxicated, had crossed the road in front of him and due to his speed he was unable to control his Chevrolet pick-up after narrowly avoiding the pedestrians.

So what does the Internet have to do with this? A totally stupid headline with no relevance.

Perhaps the driver was looking for the single gateway. giggle.gif

Or a stupid story without reference to the headline.

Another P.one highlight.

I can see the (nondigital) headline now: Thailand's internet goes offline due to two programmers hurt in accident" followed by the ad: "programmers sought to work on Thailands Single Gateway. Little experience required, start work immediately".

He admitted he was driving too fast when 2 drunks appeared before him. If he had been driving slower the 2 drunks would of been out of his way. Never mind eh , most all drive too fast and he wanted to get his work mate home 2 mins earlier if possible. There....rant over.

There is nothing stupid about the headline.

The report mentioned that the injured were internet engineers because they were, it's not relevant or irrelevant it is just a fact in the same way that an accident involving a motorbike taxi, for example, would normally describe the rider as a motorbike taxi rider, not a motorcyclist.

It is stupid because it is irrelevant. The headline implies them trying to be engineers is relevant to the crash and it isnt

It isn't stupid. They aren't trying to be engineers, they are engineers and there is no suggestion in the headline that their occupation was relevant to the accident.
