When the husband is working with WP and a one year extensionof stay. And the wife will apply for a extension of stay as dependent. Does she have to to outside Thailand and get a non O visa first? Or can she get it with a tourist visa?

Yes she needs an O visa to attach the extension too.

Not sure if ur able to do the transfer of tourist to non O in country.

most people i know, here in Phuket, have had to go to Penang an get a single non 0

She will have to go to an embassy or consulate to get a single entry non-o visa.

Immigration does not do a conversion to a non immigrant visa entry based upon qualifying for a dependent extension.

Copies of her husbands passport photo page and extension of stay stamp and their marriage certificate plus a copy. If the marriage certificate is not English or Thai it will have to be translated to Thai. For the dependent extension the translation would have to be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs should certify it ? What does that mean? My embassy? Or Thai ministry of foreign affairs?

The certification of the translation to Thai is done by Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

There is nothing I know of that can be used instead of a marriage or birth certificate.

I believe it to be twenty, the Thai age of majority.

I could, however, be mistaken and if dependency can be shown (living together in the same accommodation) then an extension of stay would be available.

Maybe Joe can confirm if 20 is the age ?

If over 20 a child cannot get a dependent extension..
