90 day report confusion.

Featured Replies

I entered Thailand on August 4 this year and my 90 day report is due 90 days from August 4. So that would make it due early November.

I recently got my visa extension and they have placed a notice in my passport indicating I need to do my next report on December 16.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I am unsure now whether to make the journey in November or December.

Any advice please? I am reluctant to ring them as they are not in any way customer friendly and I do not want to pay a fine.

First visa extension counts as report. So December is correct. Subsequent entries and extensions run independent.

  • Your next report should be December 16th.

It is not unusual for an IO to reset the 90 days after an extension and when they do you should use the new date.

December 16.

It's not a visa extension, it's an extension of stay. Visas are not extended which is why you need a re-entry permit if you intend to exit and return. An extension of stay does not extend the validity of the visa only your permission to remain in Thailand.

My normal 90 day report would have been August 12 but I renewed my extension of stay on July 15. A new Receipt of Notification was put in the passport dated July 15---first time this happened.
