Thailand launches anti-trafficking center on labour

BANGKOK, 17 October 2015 (NNT) – The Ministry of Labour is operating the Prevention of Human Trafficking on Labour Operation Center (PHTLOC) with a three-step strategy, as a strong effort to eliminate human trafficking, a Labour Ministry official says.

The Permanent-Secretary of Labour Ministry Puntrik Smiti has said regarding the ministry’s newly established PHTLOC, that it has been unveiled as an attempt to help the country recover from the Tier 3 status on the Trafficking in Humans report from the United States.

He has said that the center will carry out operations in three stages, namely the urgent, medium, and long-term stages, and will cooperate with agencies under the Ministry of Labour with official meeting between agencies scheduled for every Thursday to share the information regarding the operation to the Minister of Labour.

The Labour Ministry Permanent-Secretary has further stated regarding the operations of the Port-in Port-out Controlling Center (PIPO), that only a small number of illegal employments were discovered during this operation. The ministry and all related agencies will issue an official report debriefing this operation by February 2016.

They should put this office at Padangbesar police station. According to Australian 4 corners report, all they have to do is step outside the office to see many graves of Rohingya in cemetary, and the big boss' house nearby. Should be a cakewalk, but I assume money for tea is stopping them.

Sounds like another announcement to give the appearance of doing something without actually doing anything.

The three stages should be :

1. Announce a strategy

2. Ignore the plan

3. Complain why the rest of the world doesnt recognise the "progress".. or lack thereof.

It never ceases to amaze, now Thailand has a special office to counter human trafficking, this in itself admits that Thailand has a problem and has turned a blind eye on this disgusting form of parasitic occupation since the day dot , there main worry being tier 3, if those concerned had any scruples you wouldn't have to do anything, for those people trapped into this merry go round, you must thank the people who issue tier 3 ratings, for without them Thailand would still be doing SFA.coffee1.gif

Another less than impressive announcement of another impotent bunch of bureaucrats meeting to discuss how to do FA and try and kid others that something useful has been achieved.

Sad but true, those involved are the usual untouchables. Basking in the security of an ancient system they refuse to give up, an ancient world where their complete lack of empathy allows them to view other human beings as pack animals or cockroaches.

The "three-step strategy" is "urgent, medium and long term stages."

That's so creative.

A brief on a past operation will take 5 more months to prepare.

Slow down boys. You don't want to wear yourselves out.

Smoke and mirrors again. I can only presume that the government truly believe the outside world are blind and stupid.

Their belief is based on watching expats marrying Thai wives.

Pointless quango.

Hold on, it is going to have to have a budget. Someone will be able to control that budget. The normal divvying up of govt. budgets will apply.

Ah, so it does have a point.
