Yes, they both have US passports so they could have tried to avoid the trial in Romania. Even go on the run using the US as a launching pad. However, the fact they returned to Romania seems to indicate they strongly believe they will come out victorious in that court case. Must be very depressing, if they do win, to then be extradited to the UK to face the same process all over again. -

90 days reporting - Can I do it online ?
Hey all, Here's my question : I did a first ever 90 days reporting in person in Chiang Mai in January. I then left Thailand mid-February and came back on the 25th of February. I'm now due a new 90 days report. I've done it online this morning and sent it successfully but it's been on "pending" since this morning. I see too many conflicting info online that I need to do it in person even though it's my second report. Do I need to go in person tomorrow morning ? Thanks a lot in advance. -

The RTP Superiors must think all the people, being Thai and Farlang, who read this repeat press verbal garbage statement, year after year, believe it will be done and enforced by the RTP. Well unless you have an IQ of 40, we all know it will not happen. I believe what the Police General Kraibhun Trawadsong, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, is saying, " with regards to increase in fines, that only applies to farlangs as we need more tea money for me and my hard working (oops slack working) RTP. It does not apply to Thais as they will not pay or cannot afford the steep fines, especially the school children. -

Yes, I recall reading your story. I suppose it is a bit different at a land border. They sort of just turn you around. When you fly in, there is a lot more palaver. They need to take you to the airport detention centre, have an IO of maybe colonel rank stamp your passport, co-ordinate with the airline, have your baggage collected and re-routed because you are not allowed to collect it. It has the appearance of an official process, but nothing is noted in the computer. As @Rob Browder said, the goal is to inconvenience you and make you incur extra expense so that the cost of safe entry suddenly changes from being unnecessary to being an unmissable bargain. -

Always a very bad place to be on a motorcycle the left side of a large vehicle .. Unfortunately it was mostly the mothers fault with maybe poor road condition contributing. R.I.P poor kid.
