Banged up for drug smuggling? Good news, bad news. Good news; your Thai will improve very fast, bad news; you’ll have an ass like a clown pocket inside one month.

Thailand has treaties with some other countries, regarding transferring prisoners. The onditions denpends on the treaty, but normally one has to serve at least a certain amount of the sentence in Thailand, beofre you are allowed to go back to your own country. In your own country a judge will then sentence you to a prison term that would be normal under the law of your own country for the offense you where convicted for.

You don't serve the Thai sentence, but the sentence is being "translated to the norm under the law of your own country, and that sentence you serve in your own country.

Imagine having to serve a life sentence in a Thai stink hole prison?

I would kill myself first, the better alternative.
