Shopping In Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi, does anyone know whether it's much more expensive to get Oakley (the original ones) in Thailand compared with other parts of Asia or other parts of the world? If yes, about how much more expensive are they in Thailand?

Any experience to share?

Online discounters in the USA sell the REAL ones far cheaper.

I jumped on rei.com 's outlet site and found many discounted

but no styles that I thought were great.

Good question BUT - - CAVEAT EMPTOR (or whatever it is_ - BUYER BE VERY AWARE because there is a ton and a hlf of counterfiet Oakley out there and what may appear cheap may well be counterfeit.

I purchsed a pair at Central (wher they will be genuine) a few years ago, only to be gutted to find the exact same model about half the price in the USA 3 weeks later!!

It s like genuine Timberland shoes - all made in Thailand, but that dont mean a thing - they cost just as much here as they do in Europe and the USA - all to with the fact that they are made here under BOI regs for export and as such cant be sold here at a cheaper price - although a lot are nicked form the factories where they are made and find there way into markets, amongst the genuine counterfeits which are also made here by the ton.
