Panel hears explanations on celebrities posing with booze
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Piti Bhirombhakdi, regional marketing director of Boon Rawd Brewery, and actress Virithipa "Woonsen" Phakdeeprasong yesterday had their representatives provide information on their behalf to the Alcoholic Beverages Committee, in relation to celebrities posting photographs with alcoholic beverages on social media.

Six more celebrities will visit the panel next Thursday and two more the following day.

Dr Samarn Futrakul, director of the committee, said he would also invite Pakorn "Dome" Lam, Hansa "Newclear" Jungviwattanawon and Napasasi "Mind" Surawan, as well as their managers to provide an explanation early next month.

If the managers were found to be involved in the posting of these photos, they will be punished, he said. He added that representatives of the product manufacturers would also be asked to provide information.

Piti, who posted comments criticising the posts, was not a witness or plaintiff and he only expressed his personal opinion over a matter that should be handled by state officials, Piti's representative Boon Rawd exec Chatchai Wiratyosin said.

Meanwhile, Virithipa's lawyer Nitithorn Kaewto claimed the actress was busy and would provide an explanation in person later.

But they were not just posing with booze, they were posing with Chang. The complainant in this case is the heir to the Singha beer fortune. Perhaps that sheds some light on the subject.

"If the managers were found to be involved in the posting of these photos, they will be punished". The celebrities are given their get out of jail free card in the announcement.Just like police announcing they will search a property or check a bank account in a few days of some official they "Suspect" of corruption.

So... what you're saying is that because these celebrities were posing with Chang, the competition (Singha) got so upset that this "heir" filed a police report and got the weigh of the government to investigate this? WOW ... this is quite sad if this is how business competes with each other! It would be hilarious except these managers seem to face some sort of punishment, which the article did not quite describe!

An un-elected military government during an historic drought and bad economic downturn, appoints a panel at the complaint of Chang's major Singha competitor's heir, to address concerns that Chang representatives had made commercials for social media concerning pictures of beer bottles in a store, while the Red Bull heir parties in Singapore after running over a policeman and killing him...and Singapore has an extradition treaty with Thailand...meanwhile Europe threatens a red card over human enslavement, and Thai Navy personnel shoot Vietnamese fisherman in a part of the Andaman Sea where more than five countries have more than twenty overlapping claims...and a nerw Charter is being craftyed by Charter Gurus whose Charters all failed and were tossed in the bin, so here comes the new boss, same as the old boss....

A good fiction writer could not come up with this.

These daftly named 'superstars' should show some backbone by just not showing up.

Well, these 'daftly" named "stars" will probably have better things to do than show up for a spanking by a committee of uniformed fossils.

Woonsen sent her agent, Mr Piti sent his lawyer and the rest will probably be having a small party with a rfew beers.

Right now the wife is watching Supta on tv, i see a Thai man hitting a woman in the face, pulling he clothes of while she;s on the bed and then he rapes her.

How can that be on tv dear General? This is illegal to show to children in developed country's. You go to jail for that.

Maybe englishjohn can explain it to me?

While the world...and especially Thailand...is becoming unraveled at the seams...let us place overpaid officials in charge of running down Thai celebrities who post pics of themselves drinking alcohol...yep...that is what I say is a mis allocation of resources...

Heaven forbid if these same celebrities or anyone else should post something that the Thai Inquisition witch hunt could link to wrong doing by the government or royalty...

This is Thailand...reinforcing their committment to the military dictatorships of China and Vietnam...jolly good show...
