PM Prayut orders hunt for state website hackers

Since the BIB have the ability to issue arrest warrants regarding the [totally unsolved] Erawan incident without any names, then they can do the same with the hackers -- print out dozens of arrest warrants without a name on any of them.

Strangely, it is probably what will happen and tomorrow's headline will read:"RTP to be given cash reward for quickly solving cyber attack and issuing arrest warrants for Anonymous"

Just to make sure no one in my household gets hunted down I've removed the F5 key from all of the computer keyboards

what does F5 do? I am new to this.

Ctrl +F5 forces a website to resend all data.

F5 will used cached data so not so heavy on the web server.

100 people sitting at the same website hitting Ctrl + F5 constantly will crash many low quality web servers.

(That's all the Thai government servers)

The best way for the government to deal with hackers is a single gateway... Running through the 56k modem they have.

I am glad there are two of us with a brain. Of course a single gateway is the way to go. Take that down..........hold on.........if that goes down....the whole of Thailand is out. Ummmmmmm I must be wrong they wouldnt do it if it Jeopardised the entire country

Dear Junta Leader, Please be aware that hackers can be located in China, Paraguay, Switzerland or Feroe Islands.

You'd hope that he would have at least a grasp of this simple concept but it's fairly obvious it's beyond him.

When a person has an army behind them and can obliterate every computer in the country if so desires, is it really all that necessary to grasp the concept of cyber warfare and a single gateway? (Probably just confused the idea for a gateway with the Trump card's plan to build one and take care of immigration anyway).

Question.....

Who will be the scapegoat on this one ???

Are they going to put an advertisement, hacker wanted or so... ???

They can not even find a suspected criminal if you present the IP address of a suspect because the address is not on Google Maps.

Already waiting for 18 months after a certain scam where they used an internet connection with a Thai IP address.

IP addresses they are hunting since May 2014...:

124.122.249.208

110.168.110.195

110.168.110.190

110.168.110.194

RTP just can not find on map...

Careful now, you could be accused of having a subversive thought there.

Not to worry, the RTP can't catch people in the real world never mind the cyber world.

Even the general is not dim enough to destroy the whole national infrastructure. In order to preserve the wealth of a few. Almost that dumb but not quite.

Anonymous vs Thai junta... bringing happiness to the junta like the junta brings happiness to the people.

The problem is really that Anons are a fickle bunch... they tire easily and let go, unless the goal is really in their interest. Who in the global world really cares about little banana republic soon to join the ranks of the big players like PRC, NK, and Iran to mention a few. I'll bet the single gateway will be built by the PRC, after all they have the know how to keep the dissidents in line....And, the previous and current government are 85 percent comprised of ethnic Chinese... Re-education camps and adjustment sessions... The generals of former Khmer Rouge knew exactly how to do it, maybe our current leaders should ask them. They are still alive and well, running all the casinos across the border.

And in unrelated news.... PRC will now build a nuclear power plant in UK.... because the Brits don't have a clue how to do it themselves. Be afraid.... be very afraid... C'mon you'll Brits... I know Lucas was the inventor of darkness, but this?

Maybe now would be a good time for Thais to learn about alternative mesh network technologies...

Good luck Mr. P.

If Thailand's cyber expertise is as good as their police forensic expertise then the hackers have nothing to worry about.

They will probably just frame some migrants from Myanmar and then give themselves some reward money.

"The minister said the attack on state websites had no link to the military cyber warfare unit which is being established"cheesy.gif

I think a ten-year-old could lie better than that, well a ten-year-old from any other country that is. Maturity-wise I think ten years is about as high as it gets in the LOS.

Oh, never underestimate the power of Thai stupididy (when refering to people in charge or that have any kind of athourity). In fact you can usually count on them to make the dumbest move possible at the worst time possible.

I expect that in Thailand where university diplomas are handed out like condoms at the local beer bar, most Thais, including IT "experts" have neither the education nor work experience to understand the subject. Thais will just nod their heads in agreement content to know that the PM General has the matter under control. In a country where the leadership have actual educations from reputable institutions, they would not make cringe worthy statements like this.

GK, I think you missed my reference to the 85%. It is relevant. Don't expect the locals to implement this. The people that know and are related will fix this... don't worry.

If they leave it to the locals, i.e Thais they will run into the usual obstacles, junior stuff cannot question the seniors decisions. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of skilled Thai hackers, they just conform to their Thainess and Kreng Jai and do Sweet FA.

Make no mistake, there are plenty of highly capable IT folk in LOS, especially hackers, but they are not in the employ of the government.

The universe is full of wonder. Swirling galaxies of stars, black holes, and who knows what life might be out there.

Now zoom back to planet earth, zoom in Google map style to Bangkok, and try to work out what kind of twisted game the universe is playing by creating the conditions that led to this little circus. Surely the laws of physics would prevent the necessary factors to coincide, the mind boggling odds of it. How can such incompetence, such...omg...the long list of...there aren't enough elections in the known universe to store the e-text characters needs to complete that list. Forget the hadron collider, LoS is the ultimate physics experiment, becuase it defies all known laws. Nobel prize for the glorious leader?

If you told him that face to face he would pull out a map of Thailand and start searching for those locations in Isaan.

I once had to go from BKK to Algiers. This was before it could be booked online, so I was in a Thai travel agent's office.

Miss Jiraporn spoke pretty decent English, but was utterly flabbergasted and confused. Luckily there was a world map on the wall in the office, so I had to point it out.

For the life of her she could not pronounce "Algiers". She said it a different way every time. clap2.gifclap2.gif

In order to hide failure etc they will also solemnly announce that since national security is involved they cannot release details of the ' successful ' investigation.

Let's help the poor guys:
EDIT: bah - table broke down - go throw those to GeoIP and you'll be in the neighbourhood - tho it cost's many dollars for 50000 queries x)
EDIT2: Oh now I know where my constant disconnections come from - the power outages inside the moat might disable a router or two x)
