Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam yesterday receives a courtesy call from US Ambassador to Thailand Glyn T Davies at Government House.

BANGKOK: -- DEPUTY Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam yesterday outlined the military-led regime's "road map to democracy" to US Ambassador Glyn Davies, saying the general election should be held by May 2017.

Wissanu said his visit was routine after the envoy had already called on Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai.

Davies, who assumed his official duties this month, described his meeting with Wissanu as good.

Their discussion focused on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation in many fields including public health, law enforcement and two-way investment.

The talks also touched on political developments in Thailand, he said.

Wissanu also described the get-together as good.

Davies appeared to have done his homework thoroughly before taking up the post in Thailand.

"The ambassador can speak Thai and has a sense of humour," he said.

The United States has scaled down its dealings with Thailand since the military coup in May of last year that was led by General Prayut Chan-o-cha, now prime minister.

The US has called for Thailand to restore democracy while suspending a series of cooperation and assistance programmes.

Prayut told reporters that Davies had asked to see him but their schedules did not match, so the envoy met the deputy prime minister first.

It was a matter of protocol for the US diplomat to make the rounds with other ministers first, Prayut said. That way the deputy PM could help explain things to the ambassador, who might not listen to what Prayut had to say.

He appeared testy when asked when the appointment with Davies was, while declining to reply. "Why, are we their colony? We give importance to every country," Prayut said.

but can he lie Thai?

He will need a sense of humor!

The Junta's "road map to democracy" is made of yellow bricks and leads to any where the junta wants, but certainly not to democracy...coffee1.gif

even when the answer is not really that important, he leads with his foot in his mouth...

Keep up the good work, General. whistling.gif

Of course they are not a US colony.

Now China. ..

"Why, are we their colony?"

There is an old saying in negotiations and debate "if it will feel good, do not say it". He and Mr. Trump just cannot help themselves. If he were just to say, "I will let you know". That would be it.

Road map has plenty of off ramps, dead ends, rest stops, fly overs...... "We're on the road to no where" (Talking Heads)

I think Prayut believes everybody in the world is a child and he is the only one who knows what is right. Like he is the only parent in the world so he is the only one with enough maturity to understand everything about everyone in every country in the world.

The stuff that comes out of his mouth is astonishing.

Baffling obfuscations compounded by scintillating side-tracked agendas, complicated by half truths and evasions means

You got it....

Yellow + Cube = 7.

Who do you think you are fooling Mr.PM? Certainly NOT the highly educated and intelllegent US envoy.

In the picture Mr.Davies can be seen laughing. The deputy PM had cracked a joke about some silly Thai roadmap to democracy, even the deputy PM laughed at his own absurd joke.

The Road Map to Democracy has resulted in a new constitution writing trip that ended at a dead end soi....now starting that trip over again. Beware of long, twisted routing and dead end soi's when using this road map.

Rumors are that the Americans got a completely different copy of the roadmap than the Japanese got earlier this year when Mr P was in Japan.

It has been revealed that the mentioned joke ended with the words

" ........................and all those idiots outside believe us "

"Ok, buddy - here's the deal. You get the Great Leader to sign the TPP and we'll pretend to like your road-map."

"Done!"

The wikileaks cables (emails to the US State Dept from Bangkok) reveal that the US Ambassador has a firm grip on what is actually going on.

The no-talking rule in Thailand doesn't fly behind the US Embassy walls.

The words that are spoken by temporary occupants in power are often answerable later on.

Weeeeeee loveeeeee youuuuuu Prayut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where's the statement on behalf of the US issued by the Thai govt to say the ambassador fully understands and appreciates the road map and is truly impressed by all the govt's doing ?

I wonder if the road map includes the millions of ever expanding potholes. Perhaps the US envoy has been 'filled in' similarly.

"The ambassador can speak Thai and has a sense of humour," he said."

So Mr.Davies can understand bull$hit when its spoken and obviously thinks the governments proproganda very funny because it is not convincing at all.

Well , he knows why there was a coup and it aint what we read in The Nation.

I'd bet the envoy learned something besides tones on his quest to learn Thai language. This guy is not your run of the mill political appointment.

In fact, I would bet the top general asked for such an envoy when last in the USA.

Wissanu looks like Dr. No doesn't he?

I must say though, that while Prayut was in New York, and Wissanu had the podium, he made a lot more sense than the Generalisimo.

When will democracy return to the USA. It is turning into left wing, liberal, socialist dictatorship. The rlue of law does not apply to the Administration. and they support the constitution in word only.

Which amended version is this?

Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam:

"America no more free. How you do? We need to do in Thailand."

US Ambassador Glyn Davies:

"Well you see, we used a terror attack as an excuse to take everyone's rights away."

Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam:

"Oh you mean like Bangkok bomb or hacker attack. Gives me idea. Thank you for help."
