Hello.

I've got a computer education and experience as a computer programmer. I also have a company wishing to hire me as a programmer in Thailand. However, the Human Resources department for this company says that it's difficult to get a work permit for a foreigner as a computer programmer, is this correct? They claim that they will have to come up with another "fake" position in order to get me a work permit, although this sounds strange to me.

Any ideas would be highly appreciated!

Best regards,

Trond.

Yes it's true.

The government considers this a job that Thai's can do easily, therefore they do not grant work permits for this position.

Not so strange believe me.

Thanks for the reply!

What about a position as for example ######, is that allowed? Or any other computer-related manager position?

The web page they want actually has to be translated to Norwegian and Swedish, my native languages. Would that help? Kind of a mix between translator/programmer?

Best regards,

Trond.
