So the guy in charge may be staying in place indefinately, what is going to be his legacy? Fair comment the political situation is reasonably stable for the moment and lets face it something had to be done. But is he just tinkering? Is he going to make great efforts to get rid of corruption? Whatever he does things are likely to return to how they were once he has relinquished power. He has great opportunity to make great changes to the country but is he really going to make a difference?

He seems too concerned about trivial things like reducing the chance that underage kids can get their hands on alcohol, when in reality the laws are there already to stop this happening but they just need enforcing by the underpaid police force who have to make up their pay by other means.

Where he could really make a difference, like reducing road accidents with proper driving tests, proper fines for traffic infringements, enforcing laws that would ensure that motor cyclists wear proper protection and be legally old enough to ride a motor cycle. I could go on and on but is the leader really happy that there are so many people killed on the roads when he has the ultimate power to do something about it and greatly reduce the road accidents and improve the situation form been the second worse country in the world for road deaths. I get all the excuses from my wife as to why motorcycles have no rear lights working (because they can't afford a bulb) as they are using their smart phones while riding their motorcycles. I do not doubt that many Thai families are struggling financially but lets face it a minimum wage of 300 baht a day is something that should be increased greatly and maybe then they could afford to have their motorcycles properly lit at night.
