PHNOM PENH, (Khmer Times) – Cambodia’s Immigration Police late Saturday morning arrested 45 Nigerian nationals in a raid on rented apartments housing the Christian Evangelical International Ministry Church, in the Porsen Chey district of Phnom Penh.

Major General Uk Heisela, chief investigator at the Ministry of Interior’s Immigration Department, told Khmer Times, “We have arrested them and transferred them to our department for questioning.”

General Heisela said that initially officers found that only 16 of those questioned had passports and valid documents to stay in the Kingdom, however all of those arrested will be detained pending further investigations.

He warned that if people are discovered without passports, they will be deported from Cambodia.
