I hope we will serve you well for four years and be here again in 2019. May God protect us from shame. May God protect you from bad things.”

Winter winds knock down rice plants in Bueng Kan

BUENG KAN, 3 November 2015 (NNT) - Strong winter winds in Bueng Kan province have blown over rice paddies, knocking rice seeds to the ground and complicating their harvest.

Rice paddies in Ban Na Non, Ban Tha Pho, Ban Pan Lam and Na Sawan districts have been affected by winter winds. Many rice plants become heavier due to a large amount of seeds they produced.

Farmers have found it cumbersome to collect these seeds from the ground. Many cited the difficulty of finding workers who are willing to collect the seeds manually over long periods of time.

In the past, workers often complained of back pain and had to take frequent breaks during the harvest, costing farmers more time and money.
