If there is one, snakes seem to get on here so heres todays natural history shot, saw this fella on one of my palms this morning, Im pretty sure its a Thai Zebra Tarantula.....feisty lil fella and got him to show me his fangs, well I did say its for "Thai Visa"

Nice Spider, watch your eyes if you get close, the hair on there back causes irritation , also its a problem if the hair gets in your eyes,

asian tarantulas cannot fire the hair out at you like South American ones which is why Asian ones are more aggressive..................so i read

well, I was out wanderin' about the pastures of Pinami near de 'ol family abode in Colcapirua about 12k from Cochabamba one day and I came across a commotion...it was one ob dese critters

in mortal combat with an angry, red airbourne beast about the same size...I stood well away as who knows what may become of mortal men when we mess wid mother nature...the battle finished and then I went to investigate...

the vanquished arachnid was mess wasted by the venom of de red beast...musta been stung so many times that a cow could not have withstood......

the apasanka is a fearsome critter but it ain't got a chance against the airbourne advantage...

then I got home an' told me old grandmother: 'mamita! you shoulda seen what I just seen!' an' she just sighed and went back to skinnin' freshly slaughtered guinea pigs for de noontime meal, cute furry little guys lyin' there lifeless in a bloody heap...she'd seen it all before...

however, if we agree that tarantulas are hairy spiders the critter in the photo looks quite hirsute to me...

'apasanka' has another meaning in the indigenous south american quechua language that I'm not sure of...

Im going to overlook it this time Tut, Ive made a note of it however in my "daily grievances book" next time you will be staked to the ground, stripped naked, covered in Jam and............well i dont want to spoil the surprise for others but its not licked clean by TV members.........although that would be horrific
