You'd get a double-entry TV in Vientiane (or Savannakhet) this time

because you've never applied for one there before.

I read about that it is not a problem if someone apply for first time in Lao. Have you heard of anyone who was refused for single entry because that was second time in a row in Vientiane or Savannakhet? If not, maybe I shouldn't be worried and go to Vientiane in Dec, and Savannakhet in March to apply for single entries..

The rule, until recently, was if they see too many visas, they give you a single-entry, instead of a double-entry, and put a stamp that says, "Proofs of residence in Thailand and financial proofs are required next time."

Funny, they want people on "tourist" visas to show "proof of residence" - almost as if they Know And Expect that those under 50 utilize this method to stay here, and facilitate that willingly ?? Yes, exactly.

Whether this policy will change next week, who knows. And how much $$ they want to see? I never heard a figure quoted, so I got a new passport after getting that stamp. Hopefully, they will clarify this rule, and have plenty of business from serial TVs, from those who can show them the money-xfers.

I made the trip a week early, without using an available extension, to get one of the last Double-Entries. Your call.
