Pastor at Iowa Republican Event calls for all gays to be rounded up and executed

Featured Replies

This was on Rachel Maddow recently:

Here are the videos:
This wasn't in the Dark Ages, it was this last weekend. In America. Where 3 Presidential Candidates attended and were proud to be there. Hopefully we have enough people to defeat the agenda of the far right.
This is also why I called someone an idiot - not personally but because Hillary would be pandering to this guy if it got her votes sort of like Bill Clinton pandered to the right with DOMA. I'd much rather take someone who doesn't flip with the wind.

A salutary reminder that there as dark areas in the US as in Uganda and Kenya!

Aren't we lucky to live in a country where nobody really bothers about us being gay?

The youtube videos don't exist any more, and the one on MSNBC doesn't load. So unfortunately, I cannot watch it.

However, I don't doubt that people exist even in supposedly developed countries with access to education that are stuck in the Dark Ages.

Suppose i better cross that of for a ''Holiday Destionation''..

I am sick to death of nut job zealots. Really sick how factions of morons get pandered to by politicians to get elected. Maybe citizenship shouldnt be mandatory.....

Here is a rebuke to Rachel Madden's show, not from a Republican but from a Christian:

http://www.charismanews.com/opinion/in-the-line-of-fire/53170-rachel-maddow-we-don-t-want-to-kill-the-gays

He says he is also anti-gay, based on his religion, but he distances himself from advocating killing gays. And he says he speaks for the majority of Christians. Quote:

As you might know, I am a strong and outspoken opponent of many gay activist goals, and my convictions are the direct result of my biblically based faith.

But that same faith teaches me to love my neighbor as myself (and that includes my gay neighbor), to protect the lives of all, and to recognize that each human being, however fallen and flawed (all of us are broken and fallen in more ways than one) is also created in the image of God.

That means that I can appreciate you as a gifted, fellow human being without celebrating your sexuality.

It also means that I can treat you with respect and kindness without believing that the union of two men or two women is a true marriage or that a child should be willfully deprived of a father or mother.

A nice quotation, onthemoon. Not exactly from my wing of the Christian faith, but sentiments of which even Pope Francis would approve.

What binds Christians of all denominations together is love and respect for our neighbours even when we disagree with them. Hatred and vengeance is no part of a Christian's faith.

(And, before anybody quotes other bits of the link to me, I strongly disagree with much of it!)

I disagree with the Christian faith (I was Catholic initially, and I have read most of the Bible, so this is not just superficial) but I defend your right to your religion.

I also defend the rights of people to disagree with me, as I am a defender of democracy. And that's what I like about the quote I posted: He disagrees with gay marriage but will treat any gay person with respect, and I totally disagree with his opinion but would also treat him with respect if I met him. And I would defend his right to disagree with me.

I do not tolerate people that advocate or use violence to force their opinions down their opponents' throats. That's against the very principles of democracy.

Meanwhile that right-wing dimwit is in some interstate rest stop bathroom stall stuffing as much cock into his orifices as possible!

And the Americans are woried about the Moslims?

On other threads people are condeming islam for its intolerance. This just shows that all religious faiths are at heart intollerant. Those christians who would say this does not represent their faith need to read the bible again. Plenty of intollorant passages if you look for them.

If you choose to ignore these passages and cherry pick then why bother? You don't need a book written by superstisious bronze age men to tell you right from wrong.

But it's not really anything to worry about in that regard the USA.

I've tried to round up as many gays as I could, but my screening process is rather rigorous and I could only get through a couple in an evening. All I can say is that it almost killed me. smile.png

Unfortunately you have these right wing republicans that are homophobic. The sad thing is that some of them are closet Gay/Bi sexual and sometimes they have the strongest voice against gay rights. Just wait and see what will happen 2017 with a republican president, KKK Will spring up again against gay and undocumented immigrants, it will be scary

There won't be a republican president anytime soon. No worries!
