ICT moves forward with Digital Thailand policy

BANGKOK, 16 November 2015 (NNT) – Deputy Prime Minister Prajin Chantong has said that the Ministry of Information Communication Technology (MICT) has an important role in developing the country's infrastructure in a variety of ways concerning the use of digital technology.

Phuket police place no charges against 'dazed driving' Irish man

No charges were placed against Derek John Essen who was pulled his vehicle when he smashed into a speed-limit sign on the hill between Kamala and Patong after watching the World Cup Final on Nov 1.

PHUKET: -- The Irishman who was pulled from a wrecked Honda Jazz after smashing it in to road sign on his way home from watching the Rugby World Cup in Patong on Nov 1 is to face no criminal charges The Phuket News learned today (Nov 16).

BANGKOK — The organizer of the annual Standard Chartered Bangkok Marathon today blamed the national jogging association for adding an extra seven kilometers to Sunday’s half-marathon event.

Police hunt thief believed responsible for two Phuket break-ins

PHUKET: -- Police are investigating two break-ins that took place earlier this morning (Nov 16) at a pharmacy and residential property in Moo Baan Ananda Lake View. Police believe one suspect is responsible for both break-ins where the thief got away with B7,000 and two mobile phones.

Crackdown launched to improve safety for tourists

BANGKOK: -- Illegal tour guides, drug peddlers, illegal entertainment venues and con men who prey on foreign tourists have been marked for crackdown by the police in a concerted joint effort by the National Police Office and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports to ensure safety of tourists while visiting Thailand.

Illegal activities cause introduction of late night closure of popular Phuket Town park

An increase in illegal activities has caused Phuket City Municipality and Phuket City Police to introduce restricted opening hours of the popular Saphan Hin Park.

PHUKET: In a bid to prevent and reduce the number of illegal activities taking place in and around Saphan Hin Park in Phuket Town, new opening and closing hours for the park will come in to effect from today (Nov16).

'Nothing new' about executive order targeting Yingluck


BANGKOK:-- THE government has defended its decision to issue an administrative order seeking a massive compensation from former premier Yingluck Shinawatra due to the huge loss of taxpayers money over her government's rice-pledging scheme, arguing that there is nothing unusual about the move.
