Work permit for Burmese maids

Featured Replies

I have just started a thai company for my villas that I rent out. I would now like to employ a couple of Burmese maids. How can I do that in an easy way?

Can I employ just these two Burmese without any falang or thai people working in the company?

Or do I need to employ one or more thai people in the company before emplying the Burmese?

Or do I first need a work permit for myself before I employ the Burmese?

Would be extremely grateful for some help in this matter.

These are the types of issues to sort out before you start a company.

Is there a shortage of Thai maids in your area? I think you would need to prove the non-Thais have a special skill-set, or that Thai persons are not available, to get approval for hiring them. At least, I would hope that is what would be required (wish it was done that way in my country).

If you are going to be involved in the day to day operation of the company you will need a a work permit. That will require 4 Thai employees.

The process to employ workers from Myanmar under the migrant worker scheme varies from province to province and also the current status of the employee.
