Phuket traffic warned of Bike for Dad ‘Route of Good Fortune’ practice run

PHUKET: Motorists have been urged to steer clear of Phuket Town this Sunday afternoon (Nov 22) as hundreds of cyclists are expected to turn out for a “Bike for Dad” practice run.

Phuket Governor Chamroen Tipayapongthada announced the rehearsal yesterday (Nov 19), ahead of the Bike for Dad mass-cycling event to be held on December 11 to celebrate the HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 88th birthday. (See story here.)

“We would like all participants who attend to the event to have a real time practice,” Gov Chamroen said.

“They will have a chance to prepare themselves for the real event. Medics and bike technicians will be available at the practice, too.”

The 29-kilometre practice route, dubbed the “Route of Good Fortune” will start and finish at Phuket Provincial Hall.
