November 22, 201510 yr I've only been able to find beans (kidney beans, broad beans, chickpeas etc) in tins. I found some things like pearl barley and split peas in Rimping but only in small 500g bags, and not very good value.
November 22, 201510 yr Speaking of Makro - which I live 100 meters from - they still have a wide selection of lentils except for chickpeas! no chickpeas for 1 month? and guess what - since CP took over - less bulk and more smaller packaging and higher prices! they don't even staff the scale station in the bulk area - you have to go to the scale station in fresh produce!
November 22, 201510 yr Black beans and kidney beans are easy to find. They sell them at Tesco-Lotus. Also at Makro. I know that for some items like peanuts, it's actually cheaper to buy them packaged at Maro rather than loose.
November 22, 201510 yr Also, Royal Project / Doi Kham. Navy Beans, Red Kidney Beans and whatever those baby-red beans are called. Adzuki I think. I like those; prefer the small little guys in chilli and the like. Sold by the 500g bag, but very cheap. 35 Baht or something. Edited November 22, 201510 yr by WinnieTheKhwai
November 24, 201510 yr There are several; closest to you would be the one on Suthep Road, at the intersection with the Canal Road. Here: https://www.google.co.th/maps/@18.7913063,98.9599539,3a,75y,33.28h,81.19t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sRTwb_dmhT97c--8Iw4ziYg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 Or for the wholesale location, this can't be beat: https://www.google.co.th/maps/@18.7524767,98.9262256,3a,75y,6.8h,85.81t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sxcMuqfsN2No7tnL7RPNwIg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 (For dried beans though I don't think the wholesale place is cheaper. And I just checked, it was actually cheaper than I said before, just 25 baht for 500g dried beans, either red kidney beans, small navy beans or Adzuki beans.)
