Reliable outlets in Thailand for replacement battery

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

The battery on my netbook seems to have died. Local outlets (Samui) want THB 2k + will have to order. Lazada doesn't have the model (Samsung Li-ion AA-PL1VC6B) & Ebay outlets seemingly can't deliver until 11th-30th Dec which will surely clash with xmas traffic and the likelihood of theft in transit.

Can anyone please suggest a reliable outlet within the Kingdom that I could try?

The netbook was permanently plumbed into a television enabling me to watch IPlayer(s) via a VPN.

Thank you smile.png

Edit: What's with 'Free Shipping Worldwide' on Ebay which becomes something that is added to the bill when you actually try to pay?

Free shipping on Ebay has always been free for me (this is normally being offered by sellers in China/Hong Kong) but I always use Paypal to pay. There is no xmas traffic in Thailand.

Having today purchased the battery on Ebay from China using paypal I found I was charged GBP 5.00 for economy postage despite the seller appearing in the 'free international shipping' category. Can any regular ebayers please explain? I'm not a regular user therefore suspect I missed something in the small print :)

Can you provide a link to the item? Are you mailing to an address other than that listed by PayPal? As said I have ordered dozens of free postage items from China and Hong Kong with no additional charge.

Edit: did you have Thailand listed as your location with Ebay? If not perhaps that seller does not ship to Thailand free and that would be listed in the details of shipment area if you click on it.

On rechecking I see I was mistaken, the battery that I ordered was NOT in the 'free posting' category although quite a few of the others were.

Guess who's dyslexic! :)

Have to be careful - but sometimes things from China can be a bit cheaper even paying the postage so good to check both free shipping and not. That is really a very large expense for normal Thailand postage - usually quite cheap from China.

Bah Humbug!

It looks like I might shortly be starting a 'What to do if ebay packages don't turn up' thread.

(was due 11th-24th!)

Fortunately it hasn't completely scuppered my Christmas viewing :)

Thanks LP; the seller's reply suggests it'll be here soon, although TIME was something I had hoped to avoid when I opened the thread.

Seller's message:

'the battery has arrived in your coutnry, local delivery now, please wait a few more days. 02/12/15 12:00Item pre-advice received 03/12/15 09:29Item received for processing 07/12/15 06:00Order departed on flight from origin 14/12/15 11:40Order departed from sorting hub 23/12/15 11:35Order received into final destinationcountry 24/12/15 15:00Order customs cleared and lodged withlocal delivery agent'

Appears it took them more than 2 week to ship so totally there fault - that is not good or normal service and suspect does not agree with what you were told. They would not be on my Christmas Card list.

I'm pleased to report that the battery arrived this morning (28 Dec) and is working perfectly.

Thanks for your help LP, I hope others find the thread useful :)
