Earth Tremor At 4:12 Am This Morning

Featured Replies

Did anybody feel the tremor this morning at about 4:12 am? My condo in Jomtien shook for about 5 seconds.

The earth shook for me at about that time, but it had nothing to do with an earth tremor. :o

Sorry about that, had a dodgy curry last night.

I just saw it reported on Thai television. I don't know what was being said, but they showed pictures of some minor damage (cracks and such) on some buildings. USGS reports it as a 5.0 quake centered in the Gulf of Thailand at 21:12:31 UTC

At that time of the morning I don't know if I would feel it if the house fell in on me!

Probably shouldn't make fun of things like that --earthquakes are capable of doing it.

Was it north korea detonating a TND early this morning ?? - really do hope it was not felt this far south :D

Is anything reported in the BKK papers linking to this event ? I am out of LOS at the moment, so any update will be appreciated. :o

Yeah - I am in Cha-am and I felt it. The bed shook - and I was fast asleep.

There were a couple more about 10 days ago too. All around 4 or 5 on ricter scale!

Not good news!

Interesting website (yeah, OK I'm bored). I had no idea there's a fault line passing just to the west of Bangkok.
