Yesterday I went to CW to get my double entry extended for 30 days (last time hopefully).

I went after 15 days of entering from KL.

The annoyed lady at the office said that next time I need to wait at least 30 days before asking for extension.

Is this actually a rule?

This is the first time I had this "problem".

I was granted an extension.

Most locations only process extensions from 30 to 45 days prior to expiration of current stay - so it seems they were telling you not more than 30 days early - which is probably the most often used figure.

For long stay extensions the 30 days is normal. For a tourist visa entry extension it would be good compared to some offices that will only do them a couple of weeks early.
