Comanchero bikie ex-president Amad "Jay" Malkoun believed to have fled from Thailand to Dubai

A video showing the moment Antonio Bagnato, prime suspect in the murder of a Hells Angel gang member in Pattaya, Thailand, was arrested by cops in Phnom Penh after fleeing to Cambodia.

SYDNEY: Notorious Melbourne bikie Amad "Jay" Malkoun, who was present at the abduction of international drug trafficker Wayne Rodney Schneider in Thailand, is believed to have fled to Dubai.

Malkoun had been questioned as witness by Thai police in relation to Schneider's abduction and murder last week.

But a source close to Malkoun denied he had left the country without permission, claiming Thai police said Malkoun was "free to go".

Malkoun, himself a convicted drug trafficker, has been living in Dubai with his family since resigning as the president of the Comanchero bikie gang in 2013.

It is understood that Malkoun is a close associate of a member of the Gulf state's royal family who has allowed him to stay in the United Arab Emirates despite his extensive criminal history and organised crime connections.

Witness to Aust murder flees Thailand

SYDNEY:-- A key witness to the kidnapping and murder of a former Australian Hells Angels member in eastern Thailand has reportedly fled to Dubai.

Amad Jay Malkoun, a former bike gang leader and close associate of murdered Australian Wayne Rodney Schneider, is wanted for further questioning by Royal Thai Police.

Malkoun claimed he slept through the violent kidnapping of Schneider on November 30 at the A$5200 a month villa he was sharing with the dead Australian, whose naked body was later recovered from a shallow sandy grave south east of Bangkok.

Malkoun, a former head of Australia's outlaw Comanchero biker gang who left Melbourne in 2013 to settle in Dubai, was also a convicted large-scale heroin trafficker.

Media reports said Schneider's wife was already living in Dubai.

Malkoun is said to have been linked to Melbourne real estate deals worth $13 million, involving a Russian woman, and had also developed strong connections into Russia through his time in Dubai.

No Shocks there. Just read the history of the Mumbai Mafia.Who are Muslim in origin! The top man was living in Bangkok. But his rivals found him, and shot him. But he escaped and ended up in hospital in Bangkok. The indian government wanted him for terrorism. But a certain Thai Major General. Was paid 25 million baht. and he walked out! Thailand has been a haven for criminals for decades.

Two comments. 1) He didn't put a lot of thought or effort into his disguise assuming he was trying to hide after somehow getting past the border immigration entry point. 2) Amad Jay Malkoun was also a convicted large-scale heroin trafficker? And just exactly how did he get a visa approved to go to Thailand? Not much checking done it would seem. I find this interesting because I love to watch the Australian TV show about border wars and they routinely refuse people entry at the airport even though the people declared past convictions on their E-visas. Seems kind of rude to allow the people to fly all the way to Australia then be refused!

The rude thing is giving Aussie ex criminals passport to travel the world when they block entry to others

1 He is not a prime suspect so they could not have blocked his departure. 2. Just because he was convicted before of trafficking does not prevent his travelling anywhere in the world as long as he has a valid passport..

This article claims he fled. I call B.S. on that because he was not a wanted criminal and only a witness.

No different from many other countries. The Thai authorities should have refused a visa, not Australian.

" I was asleep and know nothing" ....bullet casings all over the crime scene would suggest that sleep may have been difficult.

He has gone to Dubai where he maintains close ties with members of the ruling family ( based on a mutual interest in horses according to BP), although Dubai is well aware of his criminality.

Exactly the kind of human garbage Australia can do without , so one hopes the Dubai stay is permanent

Yep, so bloody rude or do you suggest we allow them entry.

Rubbish - Every country has the right to refuse entry to any foreign national who has past (spent) convictions. It is not a right to enter another country.

Quite why Thailand allowed this scum to enter the country in the first place is beyond my comprehension. (Well actually, I comprehend very well, but prefer not to say...)

Yet his nickname was given as an accomplice by the American who confessed, yet they let him go because he slept through the whole ordeal.... come on Sherlock, wake-up and smell the coffee.

I think this guy knows a lot more about the murder, no way would you sleep through someone being bashed and abducted right outside your front door.

Yes indeed. Unless in a drunken stupor, or a drug induced stupor, he could not have slept through it.

Maybe he left because it was getting a little 'hot' in Thailand, and the Thais did not take away his passport. Seems taking away a passport is not often done in Thailand. Maybe they didn't take it away and he was advised to leave Thailand - who would want a scum like that in their country? Good chance to get rid of him.

Had to laugh at the transport used to take the crim away (in the video). Great stuff, don't worry about the law, of 'em 'em on a small scooter, she'll be right!!

There are certain nationalities in Australia who are over-represented in terms of criminal activity. For example, one nationality specialises in auto industry insurance fraud.

We have even had immigration ministers interfering in due process, and granting entry to persons with extensive criminal activity. Or a former Foreign Minister with links to the Mafia.

Won't happen I know; however, persons with criminal convictions in Australia and of a defined nationality prior to entry into Australia should be sent back to their country of origin.

Australian officialdom is far too lenient with these DELETED.bah.gif

Taking him into custody on the back of a motorbike with another cop sat behind him.

That is the most bizarre thing I've seen in awhile.

Did they feel as he was a biker they couldn't use a car in his arrest?

Cambodia is a very poor backwater country so its unlikely they can afford the luxury of police cars.

What concerned me the most was that woman sitting on a bike carrying a ladder !!!! That would be a lethal missile if the rider lost control at 30 kmh.

Asians really are a bunch of brainless idiots.

The scum of the earth come and go from Thailand like flies on a pig's back. It is time there was a new visa classification "Temporary Criminal Visa" at a cost of 5000 thb. Six months single entry with reporting to Immigration every month. If urgent departure is required prior to expiry date then 1 million thb "Early Exit Fee" is paid at Immigration departure.

Plenty of police vehicles present last time I was there. Dictatorial regimes like their enforcers to have the best they can afford.
