Creepy cabbie fined THB1,000 for talking dirty to passengers

BANGKOK: -- A taxi driver with a track record of talking dirty to his female passengers has been fined THB1,000.

The Department of Land Transport said on Sunday it punished Eakkapop Chareonthonsathorn for "acting and talking inappropriately to passengers" after his habit of harassing passengers went viral on the internet.

The latest case took place on Friday when a female student at Mahidol University posted on Pantip forum that the creepy taxi driver had asked her friend to marry him after graduation.

"Do you have a boyfriend? After senior year, do you wanna marry me? Being with me doesn't require a degree," Ekkapop was quoted as saying on the Pantip thread.

Looks to me he was just, trying to increase his gig portfolio, he just uses the law of averages, he will spout the same line over and over and eventually he will get a yes.

Good on him. Leave him alone. It's not even creepy. Normally they say much worse things to twelve year olds and everything. I've been in cars with Thai man who've almost crashed harassing women and children on motorbikes. I know someone else who bellows obscene remarks to every woman who walks by his shop after a few beers, and despite it being a police hanging about spot, they don't tell him to stop.

They need to ban all the homosexuals bothering people when they're not interested. They're relentless.

Not really, a simple joke back and the situations defused. my reply may be something like " Being with you may not require a degree but I do fear a degree of stupidity might be needed" and move on.
