The Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) is investigating allegations of corruption in the office of Kep deputy provincial governor Prum Chamroeun involving land deals and siphoning off money from tourism operations.

She has been accused of selling a plot of land reserved for a provincial park to her sister, taking a cut from tourist boat revenues and blocking property developments on Rabbit Island.

Unit officers have met Ms. Chamroeun and five other government officials as part of the investigation and she has denied the allegations in a letter, said ACU president Om Yentieng. He said ACU lawyers were still investigating.
