Phetchabun police patrol Phu Tub Berk roads after numerous car accidents

PHETCHABUN, 14 December 2015 (NNT) - Local police in Petchabun province have worked to provide drivers for tourists looking to visit to Phu Tub Berk mountain, after a rash of mountainside road accidents.

Since October, both Thai and foreign tourists have been visiting Phu Tub Berk, a hot destination in the province that continues to grow in popularity each year. As a result, traffic congestion on roads leading to the mountaintops has worsened.

The situation is exacerbated by the dangerous road curves, 111 in total, which have led to three road accidents in November. The accidents last month killed one person and injured 10.

Lomsak District Police has dispatched 30 officers to patrol the treacherous roads daily and give tourists safety tips and directions while driving up and down the mountain.
