Dear All,

I am currently on my first 90-day single entry non-b visa. The application process for the WP took very long, I acquired it last week only. The problem is that I am due on a business trip this Sunday, the same day as my first 90 days will end.

If I can't get the the visa this week, is it possible for me to apply for an extension, apply for a re-entry permit and get the 1-year extension when I come back?

It will be very difficult for me to apply for a new single entry non-b visa in a different country, so I hope someone knows a way to prevent that.

Thanks,

Julian

There is no extension you can get other than the one year extension.

Dependent upon your nationality you could possibley get another single entry non-b visa from a nearby embassy or consulate.

Or a multiple entry non B visa if I remember correctly based on what you said in one of my previous threads, as long as the WP has 8 month validity left which it should have no?

I am currently in possession of a one-year work permit, issued just last week. The thing is, the HR department is being very vague. Can't I just go and get a one-year extension right now? I think they told me they are waiting for even more documents.. Even though I already have the bluebook.

Damn..

The problem is, Im going on a trip where I can not obtain a visa. So I will have to come back using a visa exemption then? Will my WP still be valid if my non-b expires.

You could get a multiple entry non-b in Penang since you have over 8 months remaining on your work permit.you still have time to do it the week.

Technically you need a non immigrant visa to hold a work permit. There have been cases where people have entered without one and then went out and got another B visa without a problem.
