Police were called to the Ritz Bar in Soi Beokeow on Sunday Night by Mr. Denis Christopher aged 57 from England who claimed that he had just been assaulted by two other foreign men inside the bar. Mr. Christopher was taken to Hospital where he explained that he was puzzled as to why the two men attacked him.

The two suspected attackers known only as Peter and James both from Demark were later arrested by Police and taken to Pattaya Police Station where they explained that they only stepped in to help Mr. Christopher who was arguing with a Thai man. They claimed that Mr. Christopher misunderstood their actions and a fight between the three men begun.

With both sides telling different stories and no other witnesses to back up either of their story Police are looking for both sides to come to a compromise which may be easier said than done.

In another image posted on Pattaya City News one of the two Danes appears to find this sorry incident highly amusing - judging by the expression on his face.

Turnips!

And why do so many tourists and expats here find it necessary to come to the defense of Thais - when foreigners are confronted by Thais in ambiguous situations. Just a thought.

And speaking of misunderstanding situations and making assumptions, where does it say that anybody come to the defense of the Thais in this story?

I think it was the rich bar and not the ritz bar on Soi Beokhoew; there are an unruly load of Danes who drink in there. If you go past after 11.00pm at night, they all run out and grab passers by and get them in a 'friendly' head lock.

It doesn't. I just thought I'd throw that in for good measure.

And that band at Rich Bar on Soi Bua Koew has got be one of the worst in town - absolutley no enthusiasm - keyboards - drums and guitar. Strange looking guy on guitar - suspect demeanour.

I agree: very poor band: they actually sound like they are tuning-up. No joke. But it is funny if you are passing by, that's why the Danes love the place.
