The family of a dead garment worker at Starlight Apparel’s Kandal province factory who was among hundreds of employees who fainted last month in the 7NG Special Economic Zone filed a complaint to the National Trade Union Coalition yesterday for help fighting for compensation.

Coalition president Fa Saly said that the mother of 27-year-old Chhon Sinon had filed the complaint to him to intervene in the family’s battle to demand compensation from the company and the National Social Security Fund.

“The worker died on November 22, two days after more than 400 workers from several factories in the zone fainted, but so far her family has not receive any compensation from the company or the Ministry of Labor,” he said.
