All-out war against illegal foreign workers’ syndicates urged

BANGKOK: The Immigration Department was urged by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to launch an all-out war against unscrupulous foreign workers’ agents and syndicates responsible for duping foreigners seeking employment in the country, reported News Strait Times of Malaysia on Saturday.

The deputy prime minister also blamed the syndicates for the influx of illegal immigrants into Malaysia.

“The syndicates are inhumane. They take advantage of other people’s misery to make money. Some of them have become rich, owning luxury cars, bungalows and have more than one wife,” said the deputy prime minister.

He said the Home Ministry and the Immigration Department had ascertained that 95 percent of the illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, Indonesia and Myanmar initially had valid documents to enter the country but were later duped by the syndicates.

He cited the case of a foreigner holding a “datuk seri” title for being the head of an illegal immigrants syndicate duping foreign workers for quick profit.

Good luck, this guy tried that here...

“A person who can detain hundreds of people without being arrested for so many years cannot be an ordinary citizen.”

"There were many more government officials that should be prosecuted, including those at senior levels."

“Human trafficking is a big network that involves lots of the military, politicians and police. While I was supervising the cases I was warned all along.”

This is about Malaysia, mind you...! Never seen anyone 'up there', official or government, concerned about the situation of foreign illegal workers here... (except to deport asap, after a stay in prison, any whistleblower, ...or escaped slave!)

Are the trade unions that obtuse, and anti-social aroud here? Go fight against foreign illegal workers? Put a shovel on top of the, hot, coals of xenophoby burning in these countries already?

Or are they just the typical guys, like ten angry ones 'facing' a single Burmese, maybe with his wife and kids, the 'land of the brave' kind it'd be here?

Why didn't they, for a very long time already, really actively turn their, then, very legitimate ire against the company owners hiring those foreign illegal workers, most of have had their passport taken away, have no work permit, are abused by middlemen, are paid with the slingshot below half the minimum wage, have no healthcare, no education for their kids, etc.!

Yes, please, show you are a social organisation, at last, not just one next maffia organisation in the long row, go for human rights!

Oops, no, can not? Not your business? Blah-blah?

Sh...ting your pants and playing under the same hat as the abusers then...? Alas, I didn't doubt that in the first place, the 'I, me and myself' story, as usual...

Yup, when not 'part of the club' it would land you straight in jail, ...and even inside the team, it would make you 'flee' to Australia for your loved ones' security, even when there's no treath, officially... TiT, alas.

'Changes and reforms', wasn't it? Haven't heard that one for some time now... 'the people' must have forgotten about it already... Or try to digest the bitter fruits of promises, again, not kept, hidden, in their rooms, to stay out of the radar, for now...

Another act to make Thailand look less corrupt. Sure they all entered the country legally. If after a few year and with legally entering there is a record showing that they never left the country. This is still the governments lack of checking visa dates or were paid off to ignore them. Syndicates pay off immigration workers, politicians and the police so nothing is reported. This has been going on a very long time. Now the world sites them for there lack of force against trafficking they all want to pass the buck and like they knew nothing about this terrible act!!
